The Lao People's Democratic Republic health system review

Overview

Lao PDR HiT reports on impressive health gains over the past 3 decades due to strong political commitment to develop the health system. The results, however, have been mixed and gaps remain between policy intentions and effective implementation. There is an ongoing convergence towards specific health sector reforms to address the gaps and cover four policy frameworks: governance and leadership; health financing; service delivery; and human resources for health.
