
Thailand launched its Health Systems in Transition (HiT) review on 25 June 2015 at an event hosted by the Ministry of Public Health in Nonthaburi. The Thailand HiT, a product of the Asia Pacific Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (APO), is a comprehensive overview of the country's health system and policy reforms, and a first such report on health sector to be produced in Thailand.
On behalf of the authors, Dr. Samrit Srithamrongsawat made a presentation highlighting the findings of the HiT at the launch. H.E. Professor Rajata Rajatanavin, Minister of Public Health, Thailand, officiated the launch, which was attended by approximately 75 government officials, development partners, academics and the APO board members. Dr. Suwit Wibulpolprasert , Chair, APO Board, Dr. Richard Brown, Acting WHO Representative, and Dr. Viroj Tangcharoensathien, International Health Policy and Programme, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand also delivered remarks at the event. Dr. Phusit Prakongsai, Director, Bureau of International Health Ministry of Public Health moderated the Question and Answer Session and Dr Dale Huntington, Director, APO gave an overview of the APO.
